Demur Decks 05.02.18 Selected by Mia Seabrook

California – Rookies

Taking inspiration from the likes of The Beach Boys and The Beatles, this pair have over 10 UK top 40 hits. This track has elements of their original inspiration, however, it’s been mixed and produced to form something that resembles more of an electro-pop summer vibe. Upbeat and singing of the summer sun in California, this track will definitely motivate you to book your next holiday.

Sorry Now – Whinnie Williams

She’s back, back again. Whinnie Williams is quickly becoming the unstoppable woman who is a force to be reckoned with. ‘Sorry Now’ follows suit for Whinnie with her classic soulful, R&B vocals over a mellow beat. No doubt you’ll be adding this to your chilled playlist for that Sunday morning vibe.

Brighter Than The Sun – Taylor James Eary

“The feeling of searching for that one person you know will save you regardless of what you have or what you don’t.” – everyone has been in this mood at one time or another, and Eary has managed to sum it up so perfectly with this new tune.

It’s Down To You – Deva Mehal

With the announcement of her upcoming album ‘Run Deep’, Mehal has released this new tune, and I for one love it. Crossing over the soul and R&B genres is her silky smooth vocals, accompanied by an equally powerful percussion that will have you singing your heart out in true Bridget Jones style, a glass of wine in hand and all.

Taunt – Dave C. Rupert

This not what you would expect from someone who graduated in Opera, it’s better. Having grown up writing songs all his life, Rupert met a bunch of people at uni who shared his eclectic music taste. They now form his band, allowing him to become the astounding singer/songwriter he proves himself to be with this track.

One More Night – L.A.D.

Is it the 80’s again? L.A.D. have brought the world of the mixtape back, where the Ballard never left the car radio. This synthy pop has every element you want from the golden days and will make your bedroom floor turn into a dance floor without a doubt.

C’mon Baby – The Psalm

Released under esteemed producer Riton’s label ‘Riton Time’ is the new track from The Psalm. With a big bass backing and waves of pumping synth, this track has everything you want from a club night out. Boasting heavily distorted vocals and swirling drops, it is divided into a deep house and an old school tune, it will really get your blood pumping.

Sleep Paralysis – Daze

Our December cover boys are back with a new tune and we’re loving it here at Demur. Sticking with their dark, indie rock vibe they have distorted and swirling vocals and heaving guitar rifts that quickly become earworms. Give it one listen and we promise that you will be humming it for the rest of the day.
