Demur Decks – New Music – 14.05.2017

LOOP – Know Me Better

With the release of LOOP’s debut EP last Friday (12th May), we have on this week’s Demur Decks the latest single to be taken from the EP project. “Know Me Better”, produced by Draper, and mixed by Grammy award winning engineer Paul Norris, leaks LOOP’s saccharine vocals. “The track is about being in a relationship, whether personal or professional, that isn’t giving you what you need and coming to the realisation that you’re better off without it. It’s about making your own way,” LOOP explains.

As well as preparing for the now released EP, LOOP has been keeping busy as she is fresh from supporting Jonas Blue on his headline EU tour. LOOP is set for major success as she can count Sir Elton John who recently hand-picked LOOP’s last single “As If”, for his BEATS 1 show.

Born Stranger ft Louise Setara – Generation

Born Stranger also known as Maddox-Jones and Raife Hacking, are an electronic-pop duo that craft motivating synth-pop. The latest single from the duo “Generation”, is a rousing formation co-produced and mixed by Yoad Nevo and provides commentary on the current political climate, with comforting vocals from Louise Setara.

Born Stranger explain “All our songs start with a conversation. Roby Kenna (my writing partner) and I, were chatting about the crazy uncertain times we are living In right now. None of us know what the future looks like. “Lay down your guard, show your face to the world” is a call to arms for this generation to stop worrying what other people think. Stop apologising and start believing In yourself.”

Rachel Jane – Waiting For A Change

As we wait for her highly anticipated EP “The Mountain” due for release in July 2017, Rachel Jane is serving us with some much-needed words of encouragement with her new single “Waiting For A Change”. Speaking on the track Rachel says “This song came out of a season where I learnt that even when you feel so ready to do all that you feel born to do, it’s not necessarily going to happen when you want it to. This song is for anyone needing encouragement in a time of waiting and growing in patience. Keeping holding on and pressing in, breakthrough can happen in a moment.

The 20-year-old singer/songwriter and producer is steadily breaking barriers. Rachel’s track “Awaken” has been selected for the official BIMM 2017 Album. As well as this Rachel is preparing herself to perform at several major festivals this summer including; Big Church Day Out and 2000 Trees Festival, alongside household names such as Slaves and Nothing But Thieves. Rachel Jane is an artist the music scene undeniably needs, an artist with plenty of substance.

Lauren Faith – Let Them Talk

“Let Them Talk” is the first solo release from Lauren Faith who was featured on both Craig David’s latest chart-topping album “Following My Intuition” and Kaytranada’s critically-acclaimed album “99.9%”.

With over 10 million streams to date and another supporting slot on Craig David’s 18-date 2017 “Following my Intuition”, Lauren is busy cementing her title as one of the hottest UK artist to keep an eye on. “Let Them Talk” is a jazzy, off-kilter instrumental courtesy of UK beatmaker Lostboy supported by Lauren’s smooth, ethereal vocals.

Joy Crookes – Bad Feeling

18-year-old UK singer-songwriter Joy Crookes, has released the first single to be taken from her upcoming debut EP. “Bad Feeling” produced by Tev’n and written by Joy herself, is a powerful, bold track signalling Joy’s obsession with music which she explains, “My love for music is so unconditional that it’s almost like a family member to me,”

After two previous low key releases “Sinatra” and “New Manhattan”, which ended up on Spotify and Apple Music’s esteemed new music playlists, 2017 is set to be a great year for Joy, who is not only releasing her debut EP but has landed a slot at Bushstock Festival in London and a performance at Live Nation’s renowned Source Night on 14th July. Speaking on the new track Joy says, “We’ve all experienced temptation. ‘Bad Feeling’ describes the feeling of being on the edge of temptation but never falling. I wanted to make the song slightly tongue in cheek because when you do get out of the situation you realise how silly it all was…”,

Jonas Blue ft Williams Singe – Mama

Hit after hit, Jonas Blue just keeps coming at us with them. The latest single from Jonas is “Mama” and features vocals from Australian singer/songwriter and YouTube sensation William Singe.  Jonas has just completed his debut European tour, which saw him make stops in Cologne, Amsterdam and Paris with a full live band before coming back home for a headline show at London’s Heaven.
