White Fever – Sands
White Fever are a dark indie-pop band on the rise, from London. With an upcoming EP ‘Concrete’ due out 29th September, White Fever have released the first track from the highly-anticipated project. ‘Sands’ is a track that is influenced by the legend of Pasqual Pinon (the two-headed man), the song is about a girl trapped in her brother’s head. White Fever have also delivered the visuals to accompany the track. The video was shot in Cambersands and London and was produced and directed by the band. The gang shared, “There are a few themes running through the video, one being that the shoot locations represent sand turning to concrete and eventually ending up as sand again. The video also follows the songs’ brooding crescendo culminating in an ambiguous conclusion, inviting the viewer to complete the narrative themselves”.
Tom Misch & Detroit Swindle – South of The River (Remix)
Tom Misch shows us you don’t need the backing of a big-name record label to make it in this world. Tom can also count, Amsterdam based Detroit Swindle as fans. The duo are such big fans, that they have officially remixed ‘South Of The River’, the new single by Tom who they previously worked with. Mineo ft Audio Bullys – Original
Having been away from the game for some 15 years, dance music legends Audio Bullys return to the music scene with a new tune. The comeback track is a feature on producer Mineo’s new single ‘Original’
This marks yet another successful collaboration from Mineo following his collaboration with CASISDEAD earlier this year on ‘Do It Again’. Mineo now continues to carve his own path with a second club-ready banger whose menacing synths and a nostalgic dash of keyboards balance a heavy sound with a freshness and bounce that Simon from Audio Bullys gleefully rips apart. Mineo has again designed and drawn the artwork, whilst directing, producing and editing the video for Original. You may recognize his signature character from various walls around East London.
Vicetone ft Rosi Golan – Collide
Dutch duo Vicetone have teamed up with Rosi Golan on their new single ‘Collide’. ‘Collide’ is a summery embodiment of Vicetone’s finely polished production skills. Built around a dreamy chime-led introduction, the catchy single boasts upbeat and full bodied synth melodies which launch into a stomping bass-backed drop. Vicetone says, “When Rosi first sent over her vocal, we knew we had received something special. We loved her chorus and wanted to incorporate her voice in the hook of the instrumental. After we worked on it for an hour, we sent her our initial idea and she loved the idea! It didn’t take long at all to finish the track. We’re very excited to see how the track will do – it’s a true labour of love from all people involved.”
Foster The People – Doing It For The Money
Following the release of their third album ‘Sacred Hearts Club’, Foster The People have released the video to their single ‘Doing It For The Money’ taken from the same album. The video is one of the first videos to be produced using Google’s DeepDream technology. DeepDream is a computer vision which uses a convolutional neural network to find and enhance patterns in images, thus creating a dream-like hallucinogenic appearance. The video was directed by Daniel Henry who has previously worked with Vanessa Carlton and Purpl Monk. Speaking on the video, Henry says: “In researching more about the DeepDream world, I loved the idea of letting the collective unconscious of the internet play a part in the forming the music video. At any moment, you can freeze frame and start to see a cryptic narrative that unfolds in infinite degrees. You might see a dog, or a dinosaur, or a dead president in these hallucinations, or it could just be projections of our inner turmoil.”
Only Girl – Heights
Only Girl aka Ellen Murphy has just announced her largest headline show to date at The Borderline on Thursday 23rd November, presented by DHP Family. Along with this exciting news, Only Girl has also teamed up with director/filmographer Jodie Canwell to produce a strikingly authentic, sweet stripped back video of ‘Heights’, filmed in Ellen’s home. Speaking about the track, Only Girl explains ‘This song started life in my studio as just two chords on the piano, looping round and round. I wanted to create a really dream-like, hazy vibe to the track to convey that feeling of being with someone who lifts you up and gives you that sense of elation and strength; those support figures in our life who we reach out for when we feel broken.’
