As we were sampling our playlist for our upcoming pop-up party, dancing away in the office to Italian duo Havoc & Lawn and Anderblast’s latest single, ‘Genesi’, we paused and thought, we wonder what it would be like to party with these lads.
Made up of Simone Prati and Riccardo Mamoli, Havoc & Lawn have become one of the most promising young talents in today’s house scene. Famed for their engaging melodies and tribal grooves, the pair have gained heavy support from some of the biggest names in the industry, including David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Kryder, Steve Aoki, Nicky Romero, Fedde Le Grand, Don Diablo, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and D.O.D.
Ricky Lugli & Phill Guidetti, aka Anderblast have previously released recordings on various labels including Flamingo Recordings and Cloud 9 Music, with previous releases ‘Mohave’ and ‘Theory’gaining huge backing from the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Thomas Gold, Dannic, Sidney Samson, Ummet Ozcan, and Cedric Gervais.
As our English summer draws to a close, ‘Genesi’ is reminiscent of those days we stayed out late playing in the sun. Here’s what the guys had to share about their partying experience.
What’s more important at a party, the guests or the music?
HAVOC & LAWN: In our opinion, a big name doesn’t always mean a good party. We’ve been to a lot of parties with big named guests where the party wasn’t worth the hype. We think it’s also about musical preferences, what the crowd wants to hear. So, we say music is more important
ANDERBLAST: We believe that music is always more important.
What would be the theme of your ultimate party?
HAVOC & LAWN: We would choose something with summer vibes. You know, sea, house music, nice girls, the sunset, something like Cafe Mambo in Ibiza, we love that kind of mood.
ANDERBLAST: Honestly the theme is not too important to us. We will party anyhow.
What would you wear?
HAVOC & LAWN: As we always wear black, it won’t be difficult to pick out an outfit.
ANDERBLAST: A t-shirt black or white, casual trousers and sneakers, it’s important to be comfortable.
Who would you invite?
HAVOC & LAWN: It always nice to meet new people and party together, so we would invite random people because when the music is good, we’re all friends.
ANDERBLAST: People who want to have fun!
What would be on your party playlist?
HAVOC & LAWN: A cool selection of house and tech house music, with a catchy groove and fresh vocals. If we had to choose three tracks to party to, we would pick Cola by Camelphat & Elderbrook, Hey Mr. DJ (Sonny Fodera Remix) and Hey Hey by Dennis Ferrer.
ANDERBLAST: In our party playlists there is a wide variety of tracks and music that suits all tastes!
What’s the best party you have ever been to and why?
HAVOC & LAWN: It wasn’t a party really. It was Nameless Music Festival in Italy, one of the biggest events we have been to. You have all kinds of music playing, all genres, people from all around the world and the best landscape ever. We will always cherish that experience in our hearts because it was the first festival we had ever been to.
ANDERBLAST: The Masquerade Motel, where Swedish House Mafia played at Pacha Ibiza. They managed to create a great synergy between commercial music and underground music.
What’s the worst thing you’ve done at a party?
HAVOC & LAWN: Losing our cell phones and our friends in the middle of a crowd, and losing the train ticket to get home.
ANDERBLAST: We prefer not to comment!
What’s your party trick?
ANDERBLAST: We don’t have one, our trick is to always be ourselves and that’s what makes our parties successful.
