Jackie Got Lemons release Boundaries to help victims escape violence

One of our favourite Australian bands, Jackie Got Lemons, have just announced they will be donating 100% of their Bandcamp sales from their newly released single “Boundaries” to the charity Safe Steps. Safe Steps offer a Family Violence response centre to help women & children escape family violence.

The track “Boundaries” is $1 but a donation of…

$55 will help provide a crisis care package for a woman and her children in emergency safe accommodation.

$35 will help provide resources and information for women and children living with violence.

$75 will help provide specialist support for a woman planning to leave a violent relationship.

$125 will help provide safe and appropriate emergency accommodation for a woman and her children.

A donation of any amount will make a real difference to women and children escaping violence.

Speaking on the track and gesture, Jackie Got Lemons said; “It is interesting how humans can normalise such behaviour against their persona and excuse it as if it was part of a healthy routine. Sometimes we don´t realise that we are owners of our lives and we let others dominate us, just for that big word…LOVE. “Boundaries” is a reflection of a personal experience after a rough patch through a very toxic relationship. This song is not a breakup song, it is a new start. We all have the power of choosing our life. Get out of whatever makes you unhappy and live your life as you wanna live it.”

Jackie Got Lemons are an alternative rock band based in Melbourne, Australia. Comprising of bass, drums and vocals. The gang aim for quirky references to today´s culture movement and senseless human daily behaviour in form of a satire.

Jackie Got Lemons will be performing at The Brunswick Hotel on 25th of June with Peny Bohan & Dalli from 8pm and its FREE ENTRY FOR ALL! (Australia Only)
