Glassnote Records latest protégé, James Hersey is here with his debut single “Miss You”. As if you need a reason to sit up and listen to James, the single was recently added on to Spotify’s New Music Friday and iTunes’ Artist Spotlight section. This is a big deal for the Austrian, singer-songwriter who grew up idolising Michael Jackson, to the point here not only did he practice the King o Pop’s dance moves, but also started to grow his hair out.
“Miss You” is a track that may speak to us all. James explores the natural thought of missing someone and how technology as helpful and instant as it maybe , also appears to be a hindrance. Co-produced by James alongside Ed Sheeran collaborator Will Hicks and mixed by Stephen Fitzmaurice (Sam Smith, Disclosure, Kwabs, Mary J. Blige), James wrote the song in “two sleepless days and nights”, he says.
