With her new album ‘TRIP’ doing its rounds on the charts and her autobiographical film written by Jhené herself and Girl’s Trip Tracy Oliver and a forthcoming poetry book on the way, Grammy®-nominated multi-platinum singer/songwriter Jhené Aiko has announced her European Tour kicking off on 31st January in Germany. TRIP, which has been a decade in the works may possibly be Jhené’s most honest work to date. This is a personal story for the songstress told through her character Penny, the name her great-grandfather used to call her. TRIP is comprised of poetry that Jhené wrote which eventually turned into lyrics for this album, accompany this project is a touching “mission statement,” that details the inspiration for, and intent of, this massive venture.
“In sharing this…I hope to inspire others to share their own mistakes, imperfections and fears,” Jhene writes. “I believe in doing so we can understand each other better and realize we are more alike than different. I hope to inspire others to share their grief and pain because I believe suffering can be alleviated when we understand we are not going through any of it alone.”
. Recorded in her native Los Angeles over the course of four years, the album comprises 22 astonishing songs and clocks in at 90 minutes, with guest appear¬ances byBig Sean, Swae Lee, Kurupt, John Mayer and Brandy, among others.
