:PM On Tour With The Vamps

When we heard the news that Yorkshire based boy band :PM had only gone and secured themselves a supporting slot with The Vamps on their 2018 UK headline tour, we went into full screeching teenage girl groupie mode. Dan Reynard (vocals), Joe Morley (bassist), Alex Boulton (drummer), Josh Stockdale and Harry Yates (guitarists) ditched going to uni after winning the Harrogate AMP Music Awards which landed them the opportunity to work in Los Angeles recording in Jonny Depp’s studio. We caught up with the energetic five-piece to find out how they celebrated news of the tour and enrolling on to the Beyoncé course.

Great news about you supporting The Vamps on tour. How did you celebrate when you heard the news?

We all got together as fast as possible, had a massive group hug and went out to celebrate!

Your music is playful and catchy, does this also reflect your friendship?

Pretty much. We spend so much time together and we’ve never fallen out – we just like to have a good time all of the time!

Dan joined the group after you guys heard him sing in a school assembly. What song was he singing and what made you think he would be the right fit?

He sang ‘Hallelujah’ by Leonard Cohen with a guitar that was way too big for him, but he had long hair and seemed cool so we asked him to come jam!

You decided not to go to university and focus on music which seemed to have paid off. If you had gone what would you have studied?

Have you heard of that degree in New Jersey where you just study about Beyoncé? Yeah, that.

What do you do with your time off whilst on tour?

We’ll probably just try and meet fans as well as exploring the cities we are playing in. If not, you’ll probably find us doing something ridiculous in or around the venues!
