Unity Rock is a rocking music collective of musicians, artists and writers founded by Libertines’ Gary Powell. Gary set up the ensemble to unify us all through music. To help push their cause, the organisation has teamed up with ‘Hope Not Hate’ to host a unique event at O2 Academy Brixton on Wednesday 7th September.
This show will be the first of many events planned across the UK featuring a wide diversity of acts. The Brixton show will feature full sets from headliners The Libertines and support Rat Boy. You can purchase your ticket here.
Gary says about the event: “The idea of ‘Unity Rocks’ is to bring people together, regardless of their creed, colour , religion of whether they voted Brexit or not. This is not about politics or politicians, it’s about unifying as a nation and working to make a united more tolerant Britain, after all the future is in our hands. By using the power of music we hope to ‘pluck’ the ears of the political elite to our view and make them notice that our voices must be heard – whether it be via song or otherwise.”
Unity Rocks will be donating all proceeds to ‘Hope not Hate, is a charitable organisation that has a proven track record of breaking down barriers and raising awareness in key areas of social development in the UK.
