Yemi Alade – I Choose You

Yemi Alade unveils the vibrant official video for the lead track ‘I Choose You’ featuring Dadju taken from her fifth studio album ‘Empress’. Blending both traditional afro rhythms with current sultry French R&B soundscapes; it displays Yemi’s willingness to constantly progress her versatile musical style. The official video is directed by frequent collaborator Ovie which shows a different side to Yemi compared to her previous effervescent visuals. With striking looks and beautifully synchronised choreography – the tone of the video fuses a traditional afro vibe with a modern twist.

Yemi adds: “This video is one of my most personal projects, I was a kid Ballerina, and styling this video gave me an opportunity to relive my childhood dream. I wouldn’t have done it without the dedication of the dancers, and most especially the choreographer, Nicole Thea, who we lost this year.”

Joel Culpepper – Return/W.A.R

Rising contemporary soul and funk purveyor Joel Culpepper releases new short film video for ‘Return/W.A.R’ is taken from Joel Culpepper’s forthcoming debut album, ’Sgt Culpepper’ which is due to be released in early 2021. The tracks sees us welcomed into Joel’s immersive and personal work within the first chapter of four of the LP, ’The Battle’ in a bold and captivating way. The film is produced by Endpictures, a collaborative project between Director Leo Horsfield and Cinematographer Joshua Fry.

This is a two-part film and the concept is a Jackie Brown meets Matrix stylised visual from Joel Culpepper’s viewpoint. The song is a metaphor to a pressing force that is broaching all our lives and open to interpretation. Whether it’s BLM, Brexit or Covid, we all feel a looming weight and finding our voices in how to express how we feel about it.

Fierce 3 piece girl band, 303, release alluring R&B ballad ‘Downtime’.Continuing to deliver their signature sound on ‘Downtime’, the seductive smooth release sees the trio collaborate with producers Mikes Pro and Will Reeves as well as co-writing with Efosa to create a timeless release, capturing classic elements of R&B from the 90’s to now.

Jake Isaac – Eyes For You

South London singer-songwriter Jake Isaac continues his prolific 2020 with new single ‘Eyes For You’. A heart-on-sleeve love song, ‘Eyes For You’ sees Jake open up about his “love for a queen” that first came to him “in a dream”. His smooth, impassioned vocals take centre stage, accompanied by sparse drums, delicate guitar and emotion-tinged violin.

“This one is literally about what it says on the tin,” Jake explains. “Being honest with myself, I was always the one to fall first, this song’s about that.” With six EPs and one album under his belt, Jake has amassed over 60 million streams across his vast catalogue of music, working alongside the likes of Julia Stone, Cynthia Erivo, Duffy, Paloma Faith, Joan as Policewoman, Gabrielle and Shuggie Otis. Most recently was the stunning April EP ‘Things I’ll Tell You Tomorrow’, while he also performed on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show in September.

Redlight – Dreamquest

UK DJ and producer Redlight has unveiled his new single ‘Dreamquest’, out via his own new label ’Dream Vision Future’. Combining orchestral synths, ethereal breakbeats and rave-evoking drums, ‘Dreamquest’ is a captivating dose of ambient electronica that leaves a lasting impression.

It marks his third single release of 2020, following on from this years ‘Phenomenon’, and a remix of alter-ego “Clipz” jungle tear-out anthem ‘Again featuring the likes of Ms Dynamite, Ms Banks and Jaykae. The Bristolian raised artist has plenty more to come in this new sonic lane in which he is experimenting, and we expect to see a long-form project released in 2021 also coming via his new label ‘Dream Vision Future’.

Yiigaa – Fool

‘Fool’ is the new track from genre-blending singer-songwriter Yiigaa who has a new EP ‘Inner Dawn’. ‘Fool’ comes fresh off the back of two singles which feature on ‘Inner Dawn’; ‘For Me’ , produced by underground Lo-Fi producer Nikhil and mixed with electronic pop producer J.Ar.J and ‘Closer’, which was hailed by renowned DJ Conducta as one of his favourite tracks of the year and led to him releasing a 2-step remix of the track.

‘Fool’ is about believing in your own strength, not letting anyone control your emotions and becoming self-reliant and strong. The single is released with a new video also out today – the dreamlike aesthetic in the video takes us into Yiigaa’s bright and striking world as the perfect accompaniment to her bold genre-blending sound.

MONOWHALES – BL/FF (Fake Friends)

Nottingham’s global superstars and 2020’s MOBO and BET Award nominees, Young T & Bugsey are back with their latest banger entitiled, ‘New Shape’. The new track, follows on from the duo’s previous anthem ‘Strike A Pose’ featuring Aitch and global hit ‘Don’t Rush’ featuring Headie One, and its various international remixes which featured artists such as singer/songwriter Rauw Alejandro, major U.S rapper DaBaby, the legendary Busta Rhymes, French singer Dadju and the recent German remix featuring Gringo.

The visuals for ‘New Shape’ directed by KLVDR, compliment the fun and energetic vibes of the track, as the boys are featured dressed as savvy salesman trying to close several deals with some beatiful looking clientele. The video also features some guest appearances from the producer of the track, Lekka as well as the much loved and popular influencer Nella Rose. This video is a must watch!
