MATERIEL Pre-Fall 23 Collection – still the same Materiel woman, but with a different word, sound and manner.

MATERIEL, Tbilisi’s oldest textile manufacturer, has launched its Pre-Fall 2023 collection, marking a new chapter in the brand’s history. Under the creative direction of CEO Maia Gogiberidze, the collection represents a return to MATERIEL’s original approach to design, which emphasizes collaboration and creativity.

This season, the MATERIEL woman is bolder and stronger than ever, with a clear voice and a message to convey. The collection is 94% sustainable and responsible, featuring certified fabrics and responsible production processes. For the first time, MATERIEL has introduced denim into the collection, with a unique washing process that creates a rich, deep color reminiscent of the first denim to appear in Georgia in the 80s.

Crinkle vinyl is another key feature of the collection, with two colors – a deep brown and black – dominating the lineup. The brand’s signature black eco-leather is still present, with standout pieces like a signature-cut trench coat, a cropped biker jacket with multiple decorative belts, and low-waisted pants.

Velvet also plays a prominent role, with an exclusive print featuring a mountain stone moss that reflects MATERIEL’s ongoing connection to nature. The collection also showcases geometric forms, as seen in a recycled wool jumpsuit, an asymmetrical dress, and a black eco-leather coat.

MATERIEL was founded in 2014 with the intention of collaborating with young, local designers and incorporating their creativity into the brand’s collections. The Pre-Fall 2023 collection is no exception, with a young creative team working to bring classic MATERIEL silhouettes to life with a new lens, a carefully selected color palette, and unconventional details. The result is a conversation between geometry and femininity, structure and ambition, and the determined spirit of the MATERIEL woman.
