Kety Fusco to Debut “The Harp, Chapter I” Album at London’s Royal Albert Hall

Kety Fusco, the boundary-pushing Italian/Swiss harpist, is set to launch her new project, ‘The Harp, Chapter I’, at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 3rd March. In anticipation of the album release, Kety has unveiled ‘Starless’, the second single from the album.

‘Starless’ is a bold and cinematic exploration of the harp as an instrument. Kety manipulates classical harp sounds to create a contemporary, gory-sounding composition. Reflecting on the themes behind the instrumental soundscapes of ‘Starless’, Kety explains that the piece represents the destruction of her body and the pouring out of the rage of the world onto her. She describes herself as already being ashes, with the world reduced to a place without stars.

The sounds in ‘Starless’ were created using classical harp sounds that Kety had previously recorded and catalogued in her sound library, “Beyond The Harp, Extreme, Extended, Experimental”. These sounds were then manipulated and assembled to create the striking composition.

Kety has been playing the harp since the age of six and has never left its side. After years of studying and perfecting the classical harp, she began to explore non-traditional harp sounds, using objects like hairpins, scotch tape, wax, stones, and clothes pegs. Her experimentation has led her to design a new harp instrument that is contemporary yet still true to its roots.

The album ‘The Harp, Chapter I’ is set for release on 3 March 2023, with Kety launching it at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall.
