Afro Nation Heads to Puerto Rico

Following the resounding success of the Portuguese debut over the summer, and the huge response to the forthcoming African follow-up in Ghana at the end of the year, the organisers of Afro Nation have now announced a third event, on a third continent, to take place in 2020.

Afro Nation Puerto Rico will see the spectacular beach party head to the Caribbean for another celebration of Afrobeats, dancehall, hip hop, R&B and bashment, with an additional Latin American flavour to fit the new festival’s home in the city of San Juan.

As with the previous Afro Nation events, the festival will celebrate not just music, but the culture of the global African diaspora – covering everything from food and drink to art, fashion, dance and more.

The lineup for the Puerto Rican debut is still to be announced, but with the likes of DaVido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Stefflon Don, J Hus, 6LACK and Femi Kuti on the lineups for the European and African editions, it’s likely to be equally packed with the scene’s biggest talent.

See below for the first announcement about Afro Nation Puerto Rico, and head to our guide for more information about the festival.
