British Fashion Council Unveils Nominees for The Fashion Awards 2024

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced the nominees for The Fashion Awards 2024, set to take place on December 2 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The awards, a primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, recognize exceptional contributions to the fashion industry.

Jonathan Anderson Dominates Nominations

British designer Jonathan Anderson leads the nominations with three nods for Designer of the Year, British Menswear Designer of the Year, and British Womenswear Designer of the Year for his eponymous label and Loewe. Following his win for Designer of the Year in 2023, Anderson faces competition from Chemena Kamali, John Galliano, Miuccia Prada, Pieter Mulier, and Rick Owens this year.

Emerging Talent and Sustainable Design

The awards also celebrate emerging designers shaping the future of British fashion. In the menswear category, Aaron Esh, Foday Dumbuya, Nicholas Daley, Priya Ahluwalia, and Stefan Cooke are nominated. For womenswear, Dilara Fındıkoğlu, Chopova Lowena, Jawara Alleyne, Kiko Kostadinov, and Marco Capaldo are contenders.

Accessories and Models

Sustainable pioneer Helen Kirkum is among the nominees for British Accessories Designer, alongside Anna Jewsbury, Hatton Labs, Alighieri, and Stephen Jones. The Model of the Year category features Anok Yai, Alex Consani, Alva Claire, Amelia Gray, Liu Wen, and Mona Tougaard.

Special Awards and NewWave:Creatives

The 2024 awards also include the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, Outstanding Achievement Award, Fashion Icon, and several Special Recognition Awards. Additionally, the event will honour 50 young creative talents from around the world as part of NewWave:Creatives.
