Demur Decks 09.09.2019 by Mahmut Orhan

This week we are going international with our Demur Decks takeover with Turkish producer Mahmut Orhan who was named as GQ Turkey’s DJ of the Year. It’s no surprise Mahmut has been ordained with such a title his latest track ‘Hero’ is a whimsical slice of chilled dance-pop, featuring the ethereal vocals of Moldavian vocalist Irina Rimes. Known for his productions spanning the Deep House, Indie Dance and Nu-Disco genres, Mahmut Orhan’s profile has gained nothing but upward momentum since dropping his breakthrough hit ‘Feels’ in 2016 which to date has amassed over 300 million combined streams while reaching #1 on the iTunes Dance and Main Charts in 11 countries.

Meduza – Piece Of Your Heart

I really enjoy listening and playing this song in my performances.  I played it in almost all of my sets this year. Such a masterpiece.

DJ Snake & ZHU – No More

I can say that is the best collaboration of the year. I’m so impressed by the harmony of the sounds from DJ Snake and ZHU. I also love the backing track and the vocal.

SOFI TUKKER – Swing

Another great song with a different taste from Sofi Tukker. I also admired the music video. It’s pretty impressive.

Fisher – Losing It

This is the festival track of the year. The energy of the song reflects on the energy of the crowd. That’s why I love using it in my sets. I don’t normally listen to Tech House so much but ‘Losing It’ is addictive.

Guy Gerber – What To Do (&ME Remix)

One of my favourites. I listen to this everywhere and any time of my day. I love to finish my sets with it. It has such a good spirit and a strong melody.

Duke Dumont – The Power (ft. Zak Abel)

Hearing this kind of music produced by Duke Dumont makes me so happy. He is brave enough to try new things and the outcome is always so good. That’s what makes him unique. Plus, I genuinely loved the vocal.

MK – Body 2 Body

I love to listen to ‘Body 2 Body’ when I’m at the gym. All the elements of the song are coherent with each other in a smart way. I specifically like the bassline.

Claptone – Birdsong (Superflu Remix)

Such a lovely vocal track from Claptone! This remix makes it more emotional. This is the closing track I’ve played on many of my happy hour sets.

Mahmut Orhan – Hero (ft Irina Rimes)
