Demur Decks by LYAN 25.11.19

British DJ and producer LYAN brings together a unique and diverse range of influences in his music. Growing up in inner-city London in the 2000s, LYAN was exposed to hip-hop, UKG and a more commercial pop sound all from which he sought inspiration.

The mysterious British DJ, producer and songwriter’s latest single with London-based vocalist Becky CJ ‘Dangerous Love’, is making the waves on streaming platforms and amassing numerous plays in the process.

LYAN explains: “From a young age I was exposed to a variety of musical genres and London is a melting pot of sounds and cultures which have all had a positive effect and impact on my current sound and identity,”. Well, who better to take over our decks than a mysterious DJ with such an assorted taste in music.

Trigger – Major Lazer, Khalid

One of my favourite voices collaborating with my favourite producers was always going to guarantee a hit.

Highest In The Room – Travis Scott

One of those records that make a drive. The song is even better when you see the visuals.

TIME – Mumzy Stranger, Snap Capone, Corleone, LYAN

My favourite track from the first album project I’ve ever completed. You can really hear the different influences in my music on this record.

Tell Me – Krept and Konan, D-Block Europe, Ling Hussle

Probably my favourite record coming from the UK right now. You can really hear how much the UK sound has developed in the past year from this one.

Con Altura – ROSALIA, J Balvin, El Guincho

I’m a massive fan of the reggaeton scene, it shows that music from the world can really become globally popular. It also has the ability to make you dance at any time of the day!
