Jennifer Lopez from the block to CFDA Awards

It has been announced Jennifer Lopez will be honoured with the Fashion Icon at this year’s CFDA Awards. The singer and actress is due to be presented at the awards which will take place on 3rd June at the Brooklyn Museum. Jenny’s accolade comes as no surprise as we have seen her donning some iconic fashion pieces on the red carpet. You may recall Versace plunging green dress at the Grammy Awards in 2000 or the Ralph & Russo mint green dress with a beaded collar which she wore to this year’s Grammy.

Jenny’s According to the board of directors at The Council of Fashion Designers of America Jennifer continues to impact the fashion industry globally.  

‘Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power,’ said CFDA chairwoman, Diane von Furstenberg, in a statement. ‘Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements.’

Jenny joins a list of high profile fashion icons in their own right who are previous winners of the same honour including Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, Johnny Depp and Rihanna and Naomi Campbell who was awarded last year.
