JUNIOR’s ‘Connection’: The Bedford Rapper’s Bold Step into New Musical Horizons”

Bedford-based artist Junior has just released his new single “Connection,” a sampladelic track that blends pop, RnB, and hip hop influences to create a sound that is uniquely his own. With infectious syncopated hand-clap rhythms and colorful Latin harmonies, Junior’s fierce vocals weave in and out of the beat to create a track that is sure to get stuck in your head.

At just 25 years old, Junior has already established himself as a master of rap, vocals, and production. Hailing from Bedford, just outside London, Junior honed his craft by studying the influences of 90s RnB, SBTV, West Coast CDs, and Jay Z. After writing and producing “Connection” in Bedford, Junior was invited to finish it at Dean Street Studios in Soho, where he created a perfect blend of hip-hop and RnB that is bursting with intoxicating bass-driven grooves and soulful content.

This is a slight departure and progression from Junior’s recent singles “Long Way Home” and “I Feel It Too,” which received acclaim from outlets like GRM DAILY and BBC 6 Music’s Tom Ravenscroft. Junior’s sound is constantly evolving and adapting to his surroundings, and making music is undeniably central to his coming of age. He cites going on stage with Pharrell as an adolescent fan as a defining moment in his career.

“The aim was to mix all of my previous bodies of work together. I feel like I am definitely in new territory creatively and have never been more excited to release music than right now,” says Junior.

“Connection” is out now and is the first single from Junior’s highly-anticipated, yet-to-be-titled EP. Keep an eye out for this rising UK talent, as he is sure to make waves in the industry with his unique sound and undeniable skill.
