Skinnydip London Pride 2019 Round Up
This year Skinnydip London did Pride bigger and better than ever before, raising awareness and money for three amazing charities and working hard to spread an incredibly important message behind their amazing campaign #BeyondTheRainbow. One of their main goals this year was to really go the extra mile to look beyond the pride signifying rainbow to educate, inspire and create a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community to enjoy during Pride.
They worked alongside Benefit Cosmetics UK to create a colourful activation space in central London at White Space in Leicester Square, where they showcased a host of fun, educational events for any and all to attend during the week of Pride. They opened up the space with a big ole’ Skinnydip style party – with complimentary biodegradable glitter from A Beautiful Weirdo, drinks from SBS Cocktails, cupcakes from the cake pro’s Lola’s and a special dance performance from The Gay Men’s Dance Company!
On Thursday 4th they hosted an interactive workshop with amazing author Dom&Ink to celebrate his inspiring LGBTQ+ journal Free to Be Me, where the attendees got to colour their own drag queen in and take part in a fun and colourful art experiment! Along with complimentary mani’s from Skinnydip’s exclusive nail salon Nail Club and bright and colourful brow styling from Benefit Cosmetics UK.
Friday 5th they hosted a ‘Colours of the Rainbow’ panel event with 5 amazing LGBTQ+ panellists where they chatted all about the LGBTQ+ community, coming out, finding your family and the importance of uniting everyone together to build a better future for LGBTQ+ individuals. Skinnydip are such big advocates of opening up conversation on topics that some may find difficult and work hard hosting panels all year round, so it really wouldn’t have the Skinnydip stamp on it if they didn’t host an incredible panel.
Saturday 6th was all about celebrating the beauty of London Pride, so the space was opened up to the public and everyone was invited in to enjoy the fun inside.
Their pop up at White Space really was a totally Instagrammable, inviting safe space for all to love and enjoy. Throughout Pride month they raised over a whopping £4000 with their collection of T-Shirts and Tote Bags that they designed in collaboration with three amazing LGBTQ+ activists. With 100% of all proceeds going directly to the three amazing charities UK Black Pride, MindOut and Diversity Role Models.
