Tyler, The Creator Makes Feature Film Debut in A24’s “Marty Supreme”

Grammy-winning rapper and creative force Tyler, The Creator is set to make his feature film debut in Marty Supreme, the upcoming film from director Josh Safdie (Uncut Gems, Good Time).

The A24 production will see Tyler join a star-studded cast that includes Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet, who was previously announced in July as both an actor and producer for the film.

Inspired by Real-Life Ping Pong Legend

Marty Supreme takes inspiration from the life of professional ping pong player Marty Reisman, known as the “wizard of table tennis.” Reisman’s career spanned over five decades, starting with hustling games in Manhattan for bets and prize money. He went on to win 22 professional titles, five World Table Tennis Championships bronze medals, and even became the oldest player to win an open national racket sport championship at the age of 67.

Safdie Reteams with Frequent Collaborators

Written by Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, Marty Supreme reunites Safdie with his frequent collaborator A24, the production company behind his critically acclaimed films Uncut Gems and Good Time. Bronstein will also serve as a producer for the film.

Tyler’s Recent Collaborations and Coachella Triumph

This news comes on the heels of Tyler, The Creator’s recent public apology to Eminem and his electrifying performance at Coachella 2024. He brought out fellow rapper Earl Sweatshirt to perform “AssMilk” and “RUSTY,” marking the first live performance of “AssMilk” since 2014. With his upcoming film debut, Tyler continues to solidify his position as a multi-faceted artist with a bright future ahead.
