Harrison Storm – Sea And Fire

Australian singer-songwriter Harrison Storm returns with ‘Sea And Fire’, the latest single taken from his upcoming EP ‘Be Slow’. Talking about ‘Sea And Fire’ Harrison says; ‘when I listen to the song I’m vividly transported back to the time and space I was in where it was created – a cluttered room with a desk, surrounded by boxes containing things not used, in a time in my life where it felt like two very opposing forces were battling inside me. This is a song about wanting to wake up from a circumstance that feels like a dream. One of those moments you find yourself in that just doesn’t seem real’.

House Gospel Choir – Latch

House Gospel Choir continue their hot streak with new single ‘Latch’, their third release in quick succession. As with previous single releases, ‘Latch’ sees House Gospel Choir take a classic dance track and reimagine it with the help of the group’s soaring gospel vocals. In this case they deliver a  sombre, emotion-tinged take on the Disclosure future garage classic, stripping back the dance music elements to let the choir’s vocals take centre stage.

‘Every song is a conversation and Latch celebrates human connection’ HGC founder and creative director Natalie Maddix explains. ‘This energy exchange has the power to make meaningful change which is what we need now more than ever.’

Raheem Bakare – PTSD

Alternative R&B artist, Raheem Bakare launches visual to recent emotional single, ‘PTSD’ surrounding World Suicide Prevention Day. Taking an active role in the editing and direction of the videos aesthetic, the visual jumps between candid shots of London Streets taken by Jomar O’Meally on a 8mm camera, Raheem himself in various scenarios as well as additional footage from Top Boy actor Michael Onafowokan’s short film  ‘PODS’, with additional shots by Thomas Ijoyemi.

Talking about the video’s narrative, Raheem explains the videos sentiment: ‘The music video serves as a look into my oldest brother’s experience as a black man facing spousal heartbreak and the grieving stage of a close friend dying.’ Self released through his Roi Noir label, ‘PTSD’ hears Raheem play tribute to often overlooked mental warfare, bringing an emotion in his lyrics and signature vocals that cannot be ignored.

Unknown T ft KO & V9  – AVEN9ERS

Unknown T has teamed up to create an all-star line up with fellow Homerton rappers V9 and KO for an epic visual to ‘AVEN9ERS’. Directed by Teeeezy C, the video captures the trio as superheroes in their element.

The track is taken from his debut mixtape ‘Rise Above Hate’ which spent two weeks in the top 40, debuting at #14.  ‘Rise Above Hate’ is, in some ways, T’s political journey through the UK justice system. Its sixteen tracks distill tightly knit together elements of injustice, racism and mental health, as well as the fear of love and loss. It’s very personal.

Yuki Dreams Again – Endlessly

This song is about our quest as humans to find where we belong and what will fuel us on our journey. As Earth spins continuously and time doesn’t stop, love is what most of us find comfort in. ‘I wrote “Endlessly” at a very special moment where I was experiencing a lot of changes in my life. One morning I decided to pack my stuff and go to my great grandmother’s old cabin, two hours away from the city, with no electricity. This song captures how cyclical and essential love can be. I hope that as you listen, you reflect on this truth. We do everything because of love. It is literally what makes the world go round,’ Yuki explains.

Sam Tompkins – Charlie

Maintaining his prolific run of releases since his major label debut in August 2019, and still wearing his heart on his sleeve, emotive UK singer-songwriter Sam Tompkins has unveiled his new single ‘Charlie’. The affecting acoustic ballad features one of Sam’s most compelling vocal performances so far. A sweet melody that traverses themes of heartbreak and unfaithfulness – and a not so secret anti-drug message attesting to his tee-total lifestyle. ‘Charlie’ sees Sam at his honest, unapologetic best and follows in the lineage of his surprise lockdown release, ‘isolation diaries’ – intimate songs focused on his incredible voice and emotions, rather than attitude and bravado.

‘The song is about being in a relationship with someone and realising that when they get drunk, they always go back to a guy called Charlie,’ Sam explains, ‘I like that you can read it on two levels.’
