Holander – Car Crash
Holander, LA’s native glitter grunge princess, is back again with a new era and a new single, Car Crash, produced by TYX and mixed by Ross Newbauer. The 23 year old singer songwriter has garnered a reputation for empowering lyricism and masterfully knitting together brat, brooding, electro, dance and alt pop— and this song is another perfect example of that. Based on a true story, Holander crashes her car, and stops caring about her ex partner. Car Crash is an empowering “screw you” anthem that exhibits freedom, self love, and realizing what is important in life. Her vocals glide upon the bouncey synths while she paints more gory images lyrically, for a masterful juxtaposition. Holander describes Car Crash most concisely as: ‘a celebration of life; what it means to survive & thrive after disaster.’

Seth Glier – ‘If It Wasn’t For You’
Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Seth Glier has released the visuals to his latest track ‘If It Wasn’t For You’, inspired by Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai. ‘If It Wasn’t For You’ echoes the young activist’s own concepts about the transformative power of turning one’s trauma into gratitude and awareness. Seth is also set to embark on a US State Department sponsored international tour as a music ambassador. ‘The title was inspired by an answer Malala Yousafzai gave in a press conference after accepting her noble peace prize. She was asked “what would you say to the two members of the tailaban who tried to kill you if you ever crossed paths with them again’ and her answer was ‘i’d thank them because if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have the platform I have now to talk about women’s education.’ I wouldn’t be who I am without the pain that others caused me so to deny them love is to deny myself of the same. I thought Malala gave us such an exquisite example of blaming responsibly and wanted to capture that idea of giving proper credit to the people who trespassed against you into a song.’
Bakermat & Kidda – ‘Under The Sun’
Dutch dance music favourite Bakermat has collaborated with UK artist Kidda on new single ‘Under The Sun’, out now. With a vocal sample repeating the lyrics “all the joys under the sun”, it’s fair to say this is a track made with summer in mind. The single is accompanied by an official music video which chronicles the adventures of Matt Baker, the animated dog that fans will recognise as a recurring character in Bakermat’s visuals.
The Flowers – ‘Summer Saviour’
After their standout debut with singles ‘Truly Madly Sleepy’ and ‘Origami’, The Flowers return with their third single ‘Summer Saviour’, a warm new indie pop delight proving that the Sydney band are set to bloom in 2020 and beyond. ‘I’ve always wanted to write an unreserved, heart-on-your-sleeve type love song, so ‘Summer Saviour’ is my attempt at that, explains vocalist Agnes O’Dwyer. “Having always adored songs like ‘Be My Baby’ by The Ronettes and ‘Think About Love’ by Dolly Parton, I wanted to sort of write my own serenade-y type track.’ ‘The summer-gazing lyrics were written in hibernation last winter (we hate cold weather). We wanted to make the song sound as warm and bright as possible, it’s what got us through the winter chill’ she says.
‘Summer Saviour’ was produced, mixed and recorded by Peter Holz.
