Nico Giani: The Design Inspirations of the Spring-Summer 2020 collection

For the Spring-Summer 2020 collection, the young Italian designer Niccolò Giannini was inspired by the bold aesthetism of the Memphis Group in Italy – post-modern design and architecture of the 80s founded by Ettore Sottsass. The geometric shapes and the pop colors of the baguette, bucket and box bags perfectly match the peculiar decor of the Italian movement. Structured accessories and graphic prints make a playful experience with a touch of surrealism a la Miles Aldrige.

The Tilly Baguette, new it bag of the collection, and its two asymmetrical metal details was inspired by the Bauhaus Teapot imagined by Marianne Brandt in 1924.
